Vickie L. Webb

Vickie L. Webb, age 67 years, a resident of rural Dongola, passed away Saturday morning, August 16, 2014, at 7:10 AM at her home. Vickie was born on July 5, 1947 in Carbondale, Illinois. She was the daughter of Tilford Sanders and Grace Elzora (Mathis) Sanders. Vickie was united in marriage to Rodger “Cotton” Webb on October 6, 1995 at their home near Dongola. He survives. Vickie is also survived by her children- Jennifer (Kelly) Miller of Grantsburg, Charley (Tammy) Stevens of Vienna, and a step-son Bryan (Beth) Webb of Buncombe; 5 grandchildren- Clayton, Brandon, Skylynn, Kyndall, & Grayson; 2 special great granddaughters- Adalynn Renea & Aliyah Grayce; 2 brothers- James Sanders of Springfield, Tennessee & George Sanders of Jensen Beach, Florida; 6 sisters- Jane McClellan of Bay Town, Texas, Myra Powell of Ozark, Mary Harper of Tunnel Hill, Sharon Folkman of Bismarck, Sally Taylor & Judy Nutty both of Vienna; a brother-in-law- Jerry (Brenda) Webb of Hampshire; 3 sisters-in-law- Sandy Webb of Wood Dale, Clara Faye Perry & Marietta (Fred) Kilmer both of Goreville; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, Vickie was preceded in death by: 3 sisters-Holly Colleen Sanders, Betty Daniels, and Connie Garner. Vickie was a correctional officer at the Vienna Correctional Center for 17 years prior to her retirement on July 31, 2002. She had been a former co/owner and operator of Stevens Standard Service Station in Vienna. Vickie was a former member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She attended the Grange Hall Church in Marion. Vickie was an avid horse enthusiast, she enjoyed cooking and loved spending time with her family and friends. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday afternoon, August 19, 2014 at 1PM at the Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Pastor Kevin McNeely and Pastor Darrin Clark will officiate. Burial will be in the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5PM-8PM at the Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4503 W.
