Ruth (Boyd) Ross

It is with deep love and heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved “Ma-Ma”. Ruth Ross who entered the arms of Jesus on July 26th at the age of 91. A devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Ruth lived a life centered around faith, family, and fellowship. She was a woman of grace, warmth, unwavering faith, and unconditional love for her family. Whether it was a school concert, a ballgame, or a birthday party, she never missed a chance to support her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her presence made every event more special. Ruth had a deep and abiding love for the Lord, a love that shaped her life and touched all who knew her. She found great joy in worship, especially through song with a voice as beautiful as her spirit. She never met a stranger and found genuine happiness in visiting and sharing stories. She shared a lifetime of love with her beloved husband, affectionately known as “Pa-pa”. Their bond was a shining example of true love and devotion. She left this world ready for that joyful reunion in heaven. Ruth was a woman who loved deeply and gave endlessly to her family. Her legacy is one of compassion, faith, elegance, and unconditional love. She will be profoundly missed and forever cherished. Ruth was born January 5, 1934 the daughter of James F. and Myrtle (Barwick) Boyd in Williamson County. She married Charles “C.D.” Ross on November 25, 1952 in Williamson County and together they shared over 67 years of marriage until his passing on February 20, 2020. Ruth is survived by her: Daughters, Sherry (Gary) Brumley, Vicki (John) Summers, both of Vienna. Grandchildren, Branon (Mike) Waters of Vienna, Grayson (Justin) Dawes of Vienna, Reagan (Brandon) Tanner of Tunnel Hill. Great Grandchildren, Grady and Griffin Waters, Adler and Brooks Dawes, Wren and Rowan Tanner; along with several nieces & nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by - Sister, Mary Ada Bundren and two brothers, Jim Boyd and Sherman Boyd. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at 6 pm at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna with Pastor Brian Lingle officiating. Burial will follow in Reynoldsburg Cemetery near Tunnel Hill. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Brandon Tanner, Mike Waters, Grady Waters, Carl Brasher, Matt O'Neal, Justin Dawes, Griffin Waters, and Adler Dawes. Honorary pallbearers will be Brooks Dawes, Wren Tanner and Rowan Tanner.
