(Rice) Bradshaw, age 87 years, a resident of Vienna, Illinois, passed away Thursday morning, August 22, 2024, at 3:00 A.M. at Deaconess Regional Healthcare in Marion, Illinois. Reita was born October 20, 1936 in the Ledford community in Saline County Illinois. She was the daughter of Murell and Alice (Starnes) Rice. On June 1, 1957, Reita was united in marriage to Donald G. Bradshaw at the Dorrisville Baptist Church in Harrisburg, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 15, 2015. Reita is survived by: a daughter – Beckie (Don) Stone of Marion; grandchildren – Andria (Zack) Nichols, Mark Wright, Garrett (Kelsey Hopper) Davis, and Clinton Stone; great grandchildren – Dayton, Collin, Destiny, Drake, Emma and Kamden; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Reita was preceded in death by a son – Donald G. Bradshaw, Jr., a daughter – Dawna Davis; a granddaughter – Angela Wright; a great granddaughter – Moriah Stone; a son-in-law – Brad Davis; and her siblings – Nellie Cantrell, James “Buck” Rice, Mary Jean Woolard, Harry Dean Rice, Clarence Rice, Murelene Harper, Lushel Garrett Rice, and Minnie Rice. Reita was a graduate of Harrisburg High School. She had been employed as a cook at the Vienna Grade School. Reita also worked at the former Good Luck Glove Factory in Vienna. Reita, along with her husband, Donald, operated the “Smoke Pit” restaurant in Vienna. Reita was a former member of the VFW ladies auxiliary, the Red Hat society and the Order of the Eastern Star. She and Don were members of the former Shawnee Shrine Club in Vienna. Reita enjoyed camping, baking, sewing and crafting. She particularly cherished time spent with her beloved family. Through the years, Reita supported her family by faithfully hosting or attending social gatherings as well as attending countless sports events. She attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church near Buncombe. Funeral services will be held Monday morning, August 26, 2024, at 10 A.M. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Rodney Gholson will officiate. Burial will be in the Raleigh Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 25, 2024, from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 4400 Clayton Avenue, St. Louis, Missouri 63110
