Pauline Stoltz

Pauline Stoltz Age: 90 years A resident of Vienna, Illinois and a former resident of Carbondale, Illinois. Passed away Sunday afternoon, September 20, 2009, at 12:42 PM at Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis, Illinois. Pauline was born May 30, 1919 in Sylvia, Kansas. She was the daughter of Herman L. Carlton & Jewel Irene (Shuff) Carlton. Pauline was united in marriage to Raymond Stoltz on June 29, 1943 in Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 16, 1983. Survivors include: a Daughter - Rita Droit of Schofield, Wisconsin a Stepson - Bobby Stoltz, and his wife Linda Allen, of Jacksonville, Florida 2 Grandsons - Eric Droit of Decatur, Illinois Keith Droit of Tokyo Japan a Step Granddaughter - Renee' Stoltz-Smith, and her husband Grady, of Jacksonville, Florida 3 Great Grandchildren - Calli Droit and Declan Droit of Decatur, Illinois Louie Droit of Tokyo Japan a Sister - Norma Turok of Vienna, Illinois a Brother - Hartley Carlton, and his wife Sylvia, of Decatur, Illinois In addition to her Parents and Husband, Pauline was preceded in death by: a Daughter - Barbara Abbott 2 Grandsons - Bryan Fought and Christopher Droit a Brother - Lyle Carlton Pauline was a graduate of Draughons Business College in Paducah. Her many years of employment included the State of Illinois and Johnson County Health Departments and a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant. For over 20 years, Pauline also provided compassionate in-home care for many individuals and families throughout Southern Illinois. For her dedicated Nursing Home service, she received "Volunteer of the Year" award. Pauline was a faithful and devoted member of the Vienna Church of Christ. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family. She recently celebrated her 90th birthday and proudly continued to drive. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 24, 2009, at 6 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Brother Mark Turok of the Greenville Church of Christ officiating, with a special prayer offered by Brother Andy Erwin of the Vienna Church of Christ. Friends may call from 4 PM - 6 PM Thursday. Private interment will be in the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery. Pauline will be fondly remembered for her strength and determination in the face of adversity. Her memory will remain forever in the lives she touched. The family wishes to extend a special word of thanks to Dr. Patel, Massac Memorial & Western Baptist Hospital staff and to all her friends at Autumn Ridge.
