Marjorie Faulkner Claudin

Marjorie L. Faulkner Claudin, age 76 years, a resident of Peoria since 2007 and a former resident of Vienna and Marion, Illinois, passed away Friday evening, April 17, 2015, at 8:10 PM at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Marjorie was born September 10, 1938 in Peoria. She was the daughter of Raymond and Clara (Morris) Kerley. Marjorie was united in marriage to Howard Carr. He preceded her in death. She was then united in marriage to James W. Faulkner on June 17, 1972 in Morton, Illinois. He preceded her in death on August 18, 1999. On February 22, 2007 Marjorie was united in marriage to Lawrence “Bunky” Claudin. He survives. In addition to her husband, Marjorie is survived by: a daughter – Vicki (J. Mark) Williams and a son – Van (Terri) Carr all of Marion; 4 stepchildren – Debbie (Eric) Hansen, Cheryl (Harry) Rice, Daryl (Lou Ann) Claudin and Marla (Gwynetta) Claudin; 7 grandchildren – Brandon (Carrie) Barthelme of Carbondale, Brad (Crissy) Trovillion of Goreville, Bryan Covey of West Frankfort, Dustin (Erika) Short, Dylan Short, Evan Carr and Erin Carr all of Marion; 8 great-grandchildren – Clara Barthelme, Max Barthelme, Harrison Short, Benjamin Short, C.J. Trovillion, Ty Trovillion, Gene Covey and Katelyn Covey; several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; a sister – Catherine Rajean Parrott of Morton and a host of wonderful nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her husbands, Howard and James, Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Kerley and Clara Kerley Abbott; a daughter – Valerie Trovillion Covey, 2 sisters – Ladene Fulton and Betty Claudin; and her stepfather – Loren Abbott. Marjorie was a member of County Line Baptist Church in the Flatwoods community. Marjorie loved being with her family and cherished time spent with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed visiting with her many cousins. Marjorie loved dancing, decorating her home, swimming, fishing, and cooking the “favorite dishes” of her family. Marjorie was very thankful for all the wonderful care and love her husband gave to her during her illness and for being such a God sent caregiver. She was also thankful for all the visits her children, step-children, and grandchildren made during her illness. A lot of support was also received from her sister, Rajean, as well as Don and Jolene Morris and Phillip Morris. Funeral services were held at 1 PM Thursday, April 23, 2015, at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Burial was in the Gilead Cemetery near Simpson. Visitation was conducted from 11 AM – 1 PM Thursday at Bailey Funeral Home.
