Mr. Kevin Andrew Wampler

Kevin Andrew Wampler Age: 42 years A resident of rural Vienna and a former resident of Dublin, Virginia Passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at 1:47 PM near Pulaski, Virginia, the result of an ATV accident. Kevin was born August 13, 1970 in Bluefield, West Virginia. He was the son of James Allen & Lois Jane (Chandler) Wampler. Kevin was united in marriage to Jennifer Lee Winslade on September 9, 1995. She survives. Other survivors include: His daughter – Jessica Lee Wampler of Vienna, IL His Mother & Stepfather – Lois Jane & Frank Ott of Centralia, IL 2 Brothers & Sisters-in-Law – Allen & Jackie Wampler of North Carolina Scott & Stacie Wampler of Centralia, IL A Sister – Ashlie Ott of St. Louis, MO His Father-in-Law & Mother-in-Law – Bill & Mary Winslade of Shipman, IL A Brother-in-Law – Brad Winslade of St. Louis, MO Nieces & Nephews Kevin was preceded in death by his father, James A. Wampler. Kevin was a 1989 graduate of Centralia High School. He attended Kaskaskia Community College and then attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. Kevin served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in April 1997 with the rank of Sergeant. He was employed by the Illinois Department of Corrections, serving with the rank of Major at the Vienna Correctional Center. He was a member of the ISEA Laborers union. Kevin was a member of the Simpson Baptist Church, where he and Jennifer taught a youth Sunday School and Bible class. He was an active member of the Masonic fraternity and was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. Kevin was member and current Worshipful Master of Eddyville Masonic Lodge # 672 AF&AM. Kevin was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting. He also helped coach a Masonic Lodge youth softball team. Kevin loved his family and enjoyed spending time with Jennifer & Jessica. Visitation will be from 5 PM – 7 PM Sunday, October 21, 2012, at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Masonic rites will be accorded at 7 PM under the auspices of Eddyville Masonic Lodge # 672 AF&AM. A prayer service will immediately follow the masonic rites. Dr. James W. Cecil will officiate. Memorials may be directed to an educational fund for Kevin’s daughter Jessica and may be left in care of Bailey Funeral Home, PO Box 695, Vienna, IL 62995 or may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
