Ensil D. McDonald I

Ensil Deen McDonald I Age: 73 years A resident of rural Buncombe, Illinois and a former resident of Chatsworth, IL. Passed away Thursday afternoon, March 24, 2011, at 2:32 PM at the Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Illinois. Ensil was born July 20, 1937 in the log cabin family home near Tyline, Kentucky. He was the son of Oldron A. McDonald and Ida Roberta (Gaines) McDonald. Ensil was united in marriage to Carol Glenna (Clester) on January 24, 1959 in Kankakee, Illinois. She survives. Other survivors include: His Children - Sherrie Hines, and her husband Johnny, of Paducah, Kentucky Karen Lynch, and her husband Melvin, of Buncombe, Illinois Ensil Deen McDonald II, and his wife Shelly, of Normal, Illinois Tara Lindemann, and her husband Gary, of Pontiac, Illinois Ronald McDonald, and his wife Liz, of Chatsworth, Illinois 17 Grandchildren 19 Great Grandchildren A Sister - Wave Johnson, and her husband Bill, of Smithland, Kentucky A Brother - Wavel McDonald of Tyline, Kentucky A Half Sister - Nellie Dooms of Calvert City, Kentucky Nieces, Nephews, other relatives & many dear friends In addition to his Parents, Ensil was preceded in death by: A Grandson - Justin Reinitz A Granddaughter - Johnna Hines A Brother - Robert McDonald Ensil was a retired journeyman wireman and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (I.B.E.W.) Local # 601 at Champaign, Illinois. Ensil was a member of Chatsworth Masonic Lodge # 539 AF&AM, which later merged with Sheldon Masonic Lodge # 609 AF&AM. Ensil was also a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church near Buncombe. Ensil enjoyed fishing, motorcycle riding, camping, and re-building automobiles. He had a passion for flying and had owned three aircraft as well as building an airplane. Ensil had also constructed his own in-ground home near Chatsworth. He spent many enjoyable weekends racing micro-midget cars in the Charleston & Mattoon race circuit. Ensil was a meticulous person and loved making sure that everything was done just right. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon, March 26, 2011, at 2 PM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church near Buncombe, Illinois. Pastor Jim Shipley will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Masonic rites will be accorded at the graveside. Visitation will be from 11 AM - 2 PM Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, c/o Bob Prater, 110 Proctor Ave., Buncombe, IL 62912 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
