Donnie Marie Hutchison

Donnie Marie Hutchison, age 93 years, a former resident of Vienna, passed away Friday morning, March 6, 2020, at 10:08 AM at the Carrier Mills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Donnie was born January 20, 1927 in Johnson County Illinois. She was the daughter of Watson P. Hunter, Sr. and Delcie (Huckleberry) Hunter. On October 11, 1942, Donnie was united in marriage to Wilson B. Hutchison, Jr. in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Together, Hutch and Donnie shared 53 years of marriage, prior to his passing on May 2, 1997. Donnie is survived by: 2 daughters – Velma (Richard) Parkhurst of Vienna and Elizabeth (Larry) Moore of Aurora; a daughter-in-law – Michelle Hutchison of rural Buncombe; 10 grandchildren – Kevin Parkhurst, Todd Parkhurst, Philip Moore, Billy Joe Moore, Jacob Hutchison, Bryce Hutchison, Ryan Hutchison, Victor Hutchison, Arabella Hutchison, and Kylee Hutchison; 6 great grandchildren – Austin Lee Parkhurst, Ryleigh Faith Parkhurst, Brooklynn Marae Moore, Annabella Virginia Parkhurst, Vincent Gregory Hutchison, and Silas Hutchison; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Donnie was preceded in death by: a son – Gregory Hutchison; 3 brothers – Joe Hunter, who was killed in action during World War II, Sidney Mathis, and Watson Hunter, Jr; 2 nephews – Joe Hunter and John Hunter. Donnie was a homemaker. She, along with her husband Hutch, served as custodians at the First Baptist Church in Vienna for many years. Additionally, Donnie served as custodian at the Regional Superintendent of Schools offices in Vienna. For approximately 10 years, Donnie served as the caregiver for Miss Ollie Thorne. Donnie was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Vienna until declining health prevented her from attending. She enjoyed quilting and particularly enjoyed quilting along with Helen Whitnel. Donnie is fondly remembered for her love of cleaning. She was lovingly called “Mrs. Clean” by her family. A service honoring the life of Donnie Hutchison will be held Tuesday afternoon, March 10, 2020, at 1 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Pastor Travis Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, March 9, 2020, from 5 PM – 8 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
