Denise was born New Years Day, January 1, 1955, in Anna, Illinois. She was the daughter of Dwight A. and Alice Mae (Link) Mason. On April 12, 1986, Denise was united in marriage to Wade ‘Tater’ Thomas in Oneida, Tennessee. He preceded her in death on November 25, 2006. Denise is survived by: her children – Shane (Angie) Jackson of Mesa, Arizona, Jamie Thomas of Robbins, Tennessee, Tiffanie Baker of Vienna, Illinois, Joshua Thomas of Gilbert, Arizona, and Rhiannon Jackson of Cypress, Illinois; grandchildren – Felisha (Zane Borton) Jackson of Judsonia, Arkansas, Dalton (Deidra) Byrd of Vienna, Illinois, Mallarie Cardinal of Cypress, Illinois, and Kaden Orr of Carterville, Illinois; a granddaughter-in-law – Hyun Jackson; great grandchildren – Jaeha Jackson, Junha Jackson, and August Borton; sisters – Donna (Max) Ray of the West Vienna community, and Diane (Kenny) Baker of Vienna, Illinois; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Denise was preceded in death by 3 grandchildren – Austin Jackson, Allie Byrd, and Dalton Orr. Denise was a 1973 graduate of Vienna High School. She attended Shawnee Community College and earned her certification as a cosmetologist and had worked as a cosmetology instructor. In 2006, Denise began working for Dippin’ Dots in Paducah, Kentucky where she was employed as a production lead. Denise worked until approximately three weeks prior to her death when her health prevented her from continuing to work. Denise enjoyed fishing and was an avid Tennessee football fan. She was a member of the Country Chapel Church, south of Cypress, Illinois. A memorial service honoring the life of Denise Thomas will be conducted Saturday afternoon, November 23, 2024, at 2 P.M. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Pastor Kenny Baker will officiate. Burial will be in the Chapel Cemetery, south of Cypress. The family will receive relatives and friends from 12 Noon until 2 P.M. Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the funeral home.
