Dave Rosenthal

Dave Rosenthal, age 55 years, a resident of rural Vienna, Illinois, passed away Saturday morning, April 11, 2026, at 5:12 A.M. at S.I.H. Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Illinois. Dave was born September 12, 1970 in Dexter, Missouri. He was the son of David Lee Rosenthal and Shirley Ellen (Smith) Rosenthal. On August 6, 1994, Dave was united in marriage to Monica Kim Langley in Vienna, Illinois by Pastor Bill Gholson. In addition to his wife, Dave is survived by: 6 children – Tyler (Samantha) Langley of Benton, Illinois, Wraith Rosenthal of Bloomington, Indiana, Bowen Rosenthal of Vienna, Illinois, Layla Langley of Vienna, Illinois, Lucian Rosenthal of Windsor, Illinois, and Dennis Powell of Denver, Colorado; 6 grandchildren – Maci, Kaiden, Bryson, Kadence, Bentley, and Landon; a brother – Ricky (Vicki) Rosenthal of Olive Branch, Mississippi; a sister – Lisa (Greg) Hancock of East Prairie, Missouri; a favorite nephew – Thomas (Taylor) Horn and son Toby; as well as other nieces and nephews and his father-in-law and mother-in-law – Louis and Kwon Langley of Vienna, Illinois. Dave was preceded in death by his parents. Dave attended Vienna High School and also earned an associate degree from Shawnee Community College at Ullin, Illinois. Dave was self-employed as a master framer, builder and carpenter. In his spare time, Dave enjoyed wood crafting. He is fondly remembered for his love of Diet Mountain Dew and for his collection of and dedication to Milwaukee Brand tools. Dave was a parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church in Harrisburg, Illinois as well as St. Mary Catholic Church in Anna, Illinois. He was a devout and spiritual man and found much solace in prayer. A memorial mass will be held at a later date which will be announced. Memorials may be made to the family for a future designation. Donations may be left in the care of Bailey Funeral Home, P.O.
