Bette M. Mott

Bette Marie Mott, age 75 years, a resident of rural Vienna, passed away Wednesday evening, December 31, 2014, at 8:53 PM at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. Bette was born March 26, 1939 in Anna, Illinois. She was the daughter of Morris W. Mathis & Zelda C. (White) Mathis. On January 25, 1958, Bette was united in marriage to Wayne Mott at the United Pentecostal Church in Vienna. Together, Bette and Wayne enjoyed over 56 years of marriage. In addition to her husband, Bette is survived by: her children – Ginger (Mark) Endrizzi and Morris Lee (Danell) Mott all of Vienna; 4 grandchildren – Chuck (Melea) Ellingson of Milan, Minnesota, Matthew (Mandy) Endrizzi, Lacie Endrizzi, and Credence Mott all of Vienna; and a great grandson – Mason. Bette was also anticipating the birth of a great grandson in June 2015. In addition to her parents, Bette was preceded in death by a brother – Sidney Ray Bass and a dear friend – Karen Ruth Evans. Bette was a 1958 graduate of the Vienna High School. Bette had a passion for life and a deep and abiding love for her family. She was a homemaker and assisted in the operation of the family farm and other business ventures. Bette also was a staunch supporter of her grandchildren and always attended their sports activities, usually sitting on the front row. She was a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team and the University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball team. In her spare time, Bette enjoyed reading western novels, putting together jigsaw puzzles, playing bingo, and spending time with her beloved yorkies. Bette loved to travel. She and Wayne had often taken motorcycle trips together. Bette also had a great interest in Native American culture and enjoyed making many trips to Cherokee, Tennessee. Bette was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, where she was a member of the altar sodality. She was also a member of the Daniel Chapman Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday morning, January 5, 2015, at 10 AM at St. Paul Catholic Church. Father Tom Barrett was the celebrant. Burial was in the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery. Visitation was held Sunday evening, January 4, 2015, from 5 PM – 8 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. A prayer service was conducted at 8 PM Sunday.
