Barbara Davis

Barbara S. (Treat) Davis, age 85 years, a resident of South Roxana, Illinois and a native of the Cypress community, passed away Thursday evening, May 15, 2025, at Alton Memorial Hospital. Barbara was born on June 29, 1939 to Willard and Sarah (Mathis) Treat in Johnson County, Illinois. On August 1, 1958, Barbara was united in marriage to Larry Anderson at his parents’ home near Karnak. He preceded her in death on March 27, 1981. Barbara was later united in marriage to Kenneth Davis on October 7, 1983. He preceded her in death on January 1, 1999. Barbara is survived by: her children – Allen Anderson of South Roxana, Illinois and D. Renee Anderson of Roxana, Illinois; grandsons – Michael (Lindsey) Anderson of Rosewood Heights, Illinois and Vance (Lynde) Wilhelm of Bethalto, Illinois; Great grandchildren – Connor and Alaina Anderson, Saylor, Levi, Henry and Bennett Wilhelm; her faithful canine companion, Sunshine; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents and husbands, Barbara was preceded in death by a brother – Walter “Bud” Treat. Barbara was a 1957 graduate of Vienna High School. She dedicated many years as a school cafeteria cook at Grand Chain School. She later worked as a pharmacy technician at Schnucks in Alton, working faithfully until her retirement. In her free time, Barbara found joy in putting together jigsaw puzzles, completing word searches and bringing life to her adult coloring books. Barbara was of the Baptist faith. A funeral service honoring the life of Barbara will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 1 P.M. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Pastor Steve Heisner will officiate. Burial will be in the Cypress Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at Bailey Funeral Home from 11 A.M. until the time of service at 1 P.M.
