Arlene was born June 23, 1938 in the Reevesville community in Johnson County Illinois. She was the daughter of Auburn T. “Tobe” Etheridge and Ethel Marie (Wieneke) Etheridge. On July 2, 1956, Arlene was united in marriage to Robert Rudolph “Rudy” Wright in Corinth, Mississippi. He preceded her in death on September 4, 2012. Arlene is survived by: her daughters – Linda (her husband, Ron) Kendall of Winchester, Tennessee and Tammy (her husband, Dan) Felton of Yorkville, Illinois; 3 grandchildren – Nicole Kendall, Michelle (her husband, Patrick) McMahon, and Troy (his wife, Mary) Felton; 7 great grandchildren – Chase Holcomb, Maddux Kendall, Jackson McMahon, Jacob McMahon, Grayson McMahon, Kellen Felton, and Easton Felton; her twin sister – Marlene Johnson of Bowling Green, Kentucky; other siblings – Richard Etheridge of Schererville, Indiana, George Etheridge of Chicago Ridge, Illinois, Sarah Lee Mrozek of McDonough, Georgia, Sharon Carr of Winchester, Tennessee, and Lisa Greene of Estill Springs, Tennessee; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Arlene was preceded in death by: 2 sisters – Wardina Etheridge & Betty Lou Henson; and 3 brothers – William Talmadge Etheridge, Winston Etheridge, and Norman Etheridge. Arlene had been employed as an assembler at Simpson Electric in Aurora, Illinois. Later, she worked at Richardson Electronics in La Fox, Illinois. Along with her husband Rudy, Arlene enjoyed fishing, biking and ATV riding. She was also an avid flower gardener and loved to work in her yard. Arlene was a member of the Community Christian Church in Metropolis. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon, April 30, 2023, at 2 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Pastor Mike Hardison will officiate. Burial will be in the Glendale Cemetery in Pope County Illinois. Visitation will be conducted Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 5 PM - 8 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
