Theresa Mae Meyer

The following tribute was written by Theresa’s daughter, Jennifer… Theresa Mae Meyer was born on March 25, 1958 to Harry L. McCombs, Sr. and Lois M. (McPeak) McCombs. She lived her life to the fullest, did the best she could at everything, was loved by all people who met her, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her passion was babysitting every child in need, loving all the grandchildren and being mom to not just us but to others as well. She has 3 sisters – Nanette Collins, and her husband Mike, of Spencer, Indiana, Roberta “Bobbie” Staton of Vienna, Laura Flemming, and her husband James “Jim”, of Indianapolis, Indiana; a brother – Mark McCombs of Rockville; her children – Joshua Meyer and Jennifer Tozier both of Paducah, Kentucky, Maria Meyer of Illinois, and Alisha Meyer. Maria came into our family as a half sibling but is viewed by our mother as her daughter. She also has 10 grandchildren – Nickolas Tozier, Troy Cayce, Nathan Tozier, Mallory Meyer, Daniel Tozier, Carly Carson, Dylan Tozier, Breyton Meyer, Cooper Tozier, and Tyler Meyer; and 6 great grandchildren – Xavior Tozier, Caliegh Tozier, Cayden Tozier, Ryder Cayce, Serenity Cayce and Xavier Carson. She was a good aunt to several nieces and nephews. The best of friends to Rosemary Pugh, Bridget Mounce, and Christi Morris. She took in our crazy friends while young and most recently. In addition to her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cassedy Tozier, as well as an infant grandchild, and a brother – Harry McCombs, Jr. Theresa enjoyed her shopping trips with Katie Spicer, her snuggles with baby Ellie, her reading time with Kyler. She spent most of her days running after the grandchildren who live in our home. None of us could have asked for a better person to call mom, grandma, sister, daughter, family or friend. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 2 PM at Shiloh Cemetery, 176 West Crossroads Road, Vienna, IL. Pastor Pete Vinson will officiate. Those attending the graveside service are invited to gather at the cemetery at 1:45 PM Saturday. There will be no visitation. Following the graveside service, the family will host a celebration of life at a location which will be announced at the service. Memorials may be made to assist the family with expenses and left in the care of Bailey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 695, Vienna, IL 62995.
