Jaimee K. Ellis

Jaimee K. Ellis, age 50 years, a resident of Colp, Illinois, passed away Sunday evening, May 1, 2022, at 7:32 PM at SIH Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Illinois. Jaimee was born December 31, 1971 in Granite City, Illinois. On May 4, 1996, Jaimee was united in marriage to Brian Canada in Pontoon Beach, Illinois. He survives. Jaimee is also survived by: her son – Jaxon Canada of Colp; an aunt, 3 uncles, numerous cousins, a brother-in-law – Jeff Canada of Belknap, other relatives and many dear friends. Jaimee was preceded in death by: her mother – Judy Ellis Keys; her maternal grandmother – Pauline Williams; aunts and uncles. Jaimee was a 1989 graduate of Carbondale High School. She then received training at John A. Logan Community College and became a Registered Nurse. Jaimee was formerly employed in the Medicare division of Blue Cross and W.P.S. Later, Jaimee worked at the Cobden Nursing Home for a short time and then was employed in the health care division of the Pinckneyville Correctional Center. Jaimee then found her true calling and passion working for Celtic Hospice. During her time at John A. Logan Community College, Jaimee was a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Jaimee enjoyed many hobbies and past times, including taking long drives in the country, traveling, cooking, listening to music, painting, and bird watching, particularly hummingbirds. She collected many items related to birds, especially owls. A memorial service honoring the life of Jaimee Ellis will be conducted Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 12 Noon at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. The family will receive relatives and friends from 11 AM – 12 Noon Saturday at the funeral home.
