Elizabeth "Libby" Bundren

March 21, 1937 - July 24, 2019

Elizabeth Ann “Libby” Bundren, age 82 years, a resident of rural Ozark, passed away Wednesday afternoon, July 24, 2019, at 1:50 PM at her home. At the time of her passing, Libby was surrounded by members of her loving family. Libby, as she was affectionately known, was born March 21, 1937 in Hardin County Illinois. She was the eldest of seven children born to Wilford and Tressie (Scarbrough) Tite. On December 23, 1955, Libby was united in marriage to Donald Bundren in Ozark, Illinois. He survives. Other survivors include: her children – Cheryl (Charles) Deaton of Stonefort, Jeffery (Dixie) Bundren of Vienna, Michael (Sherri) Bundren of Ozark, Deborah Estes of Ozark and Phillip (Karen) Bundren of Paducah, Kentucky; 11 grandchildren – Amanda (Steven) Patterson, Charles Wesley Deaton, Jeff (Amy) Dalton, Jeremy Dalton, Christopher (Jenny) Masterson, Brandon (Kristi) Bundren, Laura Estes, Tyler Bundren, Dustin (his fiancé, Kristian Meyers) Turner, Patrick (Robyn) Turner and Danielle (her fiancé, Chris Grant) Morehead; 19 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; a brother – Harley (Connie) Tite of Ozark; sisters-in-law – Marilyn Tite of Vienna and Nancy Tite of Ozark; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents, Libby was preceded in death by a son-in-law – Ronald Estes; 4 brothers – Kelley, Jerry, Kirk and Edson Tite and a sister – Cindy McCabe. Libby had worked for a time as a substitute rural mail carrier for the Ozark post office. She was a homemaker and enjoyed flower gardening and quilting. Libby is remembered by her family as an excellent cook. She was a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister and friend. Libby’s life touched many through the years and she had a positive influence on all she came into contact with. Libby was a faithful Christian and prayer warrior. She was a member of the New Burnside Community Church. Libby served the church as an adult Sunday School teacher and was a long-time church pianist. A service honoring the life of Libby Bundren will be conducted Saturday afternoon, July 27, 2019, at 1 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Pastor Pete Slivinski will officiate, assisted by Phillip Bundren, one of Libby’s sons. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery, east of Ozark. Visitation will be held Friday evening, July 26, 2019, from 5 PM – 8 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Box 98, Vienna, Illinois 62995.
