Deborah Morris

August 17, 1957 - January 17, 2022

Deborah Rae Morris, age 64 years, a resident of rural Tunnel Hill, Illinois, left her earthly home and was welcomed into Heaven by her Savior, Monday morning, January 17, 2022. Debbie, as she was known to family and friends, was born August 17, 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri. She was the daughter of Emmett Lewis, Jr. and Shirley Mary (Heidaman) Lewis. Debbie was formerly united in marriage to Tim Morris. Debbie is survived by: her children – Timothy Johns Morris, Jr. and is wife Ashli of Dry Ridge, Kentucky and Katherine Mary Morris of Tunnel Hill; and 3 grandchildren – KhyliJo, Korbyn, and Adylee. In addition to her parents, Debbie was preceded in death by a brother – Michael Emmett Lewis. Debbie was a 1975 graduate of Wentzville (Missouri) High School. She moved to Southern Illinois as an adult and considered it her home, though St. Louis was her hometown. Debbie would often visit her parents and she always considered herself a St. Louis Cardinals fan. Debbie attended Shawnee Community College at Ullin, where she received training and earned her CNA degree. Debbie was employed at Autumn Ridge Supportive Living Center in Vienna. Debbie loved her children deeply and was profoundly proud of Timmy’s military service and Katie’s career as a nurse. She enjoyed gardening, walking, getting her nails done, the beach and taking trips planned by her daughter-in-law, Ashli. She was always excited about spending time with her grandchildren and would fully expect an honorable mention of her “fur” grandchildren. She was aware of how much God loved her and shared that she knew she would be very blessed when her time came. Debbie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Vienna. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905 or to www.stjude.org
