Bonnie L. Turley

Bonnie L. (Soper) Turley, age 94 years, a resident of Marion, Illinois and a former resident of Vienna, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 26, 2022, at 5:35 PM at Parkway Manor in Marion. Bonnie was born May 28, 1927 in West Frankfort, Illinois. She was the daughter of Charles Soper and Lola (Fairless) Soper. On May 16, 1946, Bonnie was united in marriage to Joe F. Turley at the old St. Paul Catholic Church in Vienna. He preceded her in death on March 3, 2016. Bonnie is survived by: her children – Mike (Becky) Turley of Ozark and Geri (Dan) Fruge’ of Marion; 5 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. Bonnie was also anticipating the birth of a great-great grandchild due to be born in September. In addition to her parents and husband, Bonnie was preceded in death by: a sister – Georgia Holmes; and 2 brothers – Kenneth Soper and Eugene Soper. Bonnie was a 1944 graduate of Vienna High School. She also attended Shawnee Community College, where she received training as a licensed practical nurse. Bonnie was employed as an LPN at Hillview Health Care Center in Vienna, during the time that her family owned and operated the facility. Bonnie was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. In accordance with Bonnie’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral service.
