Maudene was born August 8, 1927 in Cypress, Illinois. She was the daughter of Marcus and Cora Ann (Pool) Hines. Maudene is survived by a host of nieces and nephews as well as dear friends, Linda and Dee-Dee. She was preceded in death by: 2 brothers – Milton Lee Hines and Edwin Lavern Hines; 3 sisters – Sylvia Marie Cooley, Retha Lorene Murrie, and Lavada Glass Kelley; as well as 3 infant sisters. Maudene was employed for over 40 years by Caterpillar, Inc in the Peoria facility. She was also the co-owner/operator of an automobile service station in Peoria for a number of years. Following her retirement and return to Southern Illinois, Maudene worked for Jon A. Simmons’ Auction Service. Maudene was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. She enjoyed bingo and trips to the casino where she loved to play the slot machines. Maudene also enjoyed yard sales and auctions. She was a member of the Catholic faith. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Hillview Health Care Center for the love and care shown to Maudene during her ten year residency. A service honoring the life of Maudene Hines will be conducted Thursday afternoon, January 12, 2023, at 2 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Pastor Billy Thomas will officiate. Burial will be in the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery. Visitation will be conducted Thursday, January 12, 2023, from 12 Noon – 2 PM at the funeral home Memorials may be made to the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery, P.O. Box 714, Vienna, Illinois 62995.
