William Dean Carrel

William Dean Carrel Age: 50 years A resident of rural Vienna, IL. Passed away Tuesday evening, May 5, 2009, at 11:45 PM at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, IL. Bill was born January 3, 1959 in Metropolis, IL. He was the son of Howard Carrel and Kathryn (Heal) Carrel. Bill was united in marriage to Kim Ann (Langley) in 1978 in Buncombe, IL. She survives. Other survivors include: His Mother - Kathryn Kelso of Vienna, IL a Daughter - Tasha L. Wininger, and her husband Wayne, of Carterville, IL 2 Sons - Joshua D. Carrel of Eldorado, IL Allen J. Carrel, and his wife Molly, of Vienna, IL 2 Grandsons - William Paul Carrel and Kylen Dean Wininger a Sister - Candy Dunlap of the Glendale community 2 Brothers - Holbert Carrel, and his wife Sonya, of West Virginia Kenneth Carrel, and his wife Sandy, of Birchwood, TN Several Nieces and Nephews Bill was anticipating the birth of a grandson and a granddaughter in June 2009. In addition to his Father, Bill was preceded in death by: an Infant Son - William Dean Carrel, Jr. on June 6, 1980 His Maternal Grandparents - Holbert & Wilma Heal Bill attended Vienna High School. He was a graduate of Shawnee Community College and received an A.S. degree in Forestry and Wildlife Conservation Enforcement. Bill had also taken photography classes. Bill was a construction laborer. He had been employed throughout the area and worked on numerous road construction projects. Bill had worked for E.T. Simonds Construction Company and Obermark Construction Company, among others over the years. He was a member of Laborer's International Union of North America, Local # 773 in Marion, IL. Bill was a member of the Vienna United Pentecostal Church. Bill was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Until declining health prevented him from doing so, Bill raised cattle and horses on his farm near Vienna. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 9, 2009, at 2 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Brother Roy Elledge will officiate. Burial will be in the Belknap Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call after 6 PM Friday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
