Vernon Moore

Vernon LeRoy Moore, son of Roy Albert Moore & Beulah Fay (Taylor) Moore, was born March 2, 1944 in New Burnside, IL. He departed this life Thursday morning, October 7, 2004, at 12:00 AM at the home of his sister, Shirley Dalton, near Tunnel Hill, Illinois. At the time of his passing, Vernon had attained the age of 60 years 7 months & 5 days. Vernon was united in marriage to Mary E. (Meadows) on May 19, 1964 in Vienna, IL. She survives. Other survivors include ƒ?" 4 Daughters ƒ?" Mary Frances Luke of Goreville, IL, Donna Fay Whittington of Goreville, IL, Debra Lynn & James Maier of Rose Bud, AR, & Valerie June Moore of Vienna, IL; 7 Grandchildren ƒ?" Eric, Raymond, Mikey, Andrew, Jacob, Joshua & Nona; 3 Brothers ƒ?" Donald Eugene & Joan Moore of Dixon, IL, Joe Benny & Linda Moore of Vienna, IL, & Cecil Moore of Tunnel Hill, IL; a Sister ƒ?" Shirley & Bud Dalton of Tunnel Hill, IL; Special Cousins ƒ?" Jack & Anne Brown of Creal Springs, IL; Dear Nieces & Nephews, including Patty, Vickie, & Billy. In addition to his Parents, Vernon was preceded in death by 3 Brothers ƒ?" Lawrence Taylor, Roy Leon Moore & Jackie David Moore. Vernon was a certified Ford mechanic. He was also employed as a fork-lift operator by the Pepsi Cola Bottling Co in Marion, IL. Vernon was a member of the North American Hunting Association. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting & fishing. Vernon especially enjoyed the time he spent with his Brothers and other family members while deer hunting. Vernon was a NASCAR enthusiast and a fan of Dale Earnhardt & Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Vernon had recently came to the Lord through the Freedom Outreach Ministries & Pastor Steve Watkins. As per his request, there will be no public visitation or funeral services. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Southern Illinois for the care & attention shown. A special thank you to nurses Theresa & Cindy.
