Sharon was born on September 14, 1946 in Belknap at her family home. Sharon grew up on the family dairy farm, attended grade school in Belknap and graduated from Vienna High School in 1964. In 1952, Sharon gave her life to Christ at a revival at the Belknap Pentecostal Church and continued to attend services there as well as the Belknap Methodist Church. On September 16, 1966, Sharon and Max Hutchison were married and lived in Belknap, where Max taught school and later worked for Main Brothers Box and Lumber Company in Karnak. Sharon worked for the Daniels Grocery Store, the Shawnee Development Council, the Department of Children and Family Services, as well as the Johnson County Ambulance Service during her younger years. In 2011, after 24 years, Sharon retired as a 911 dispatcher for the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department. Sharon spent much of her married life working around the family farms, milking cows, and taking care of the home. She and Max lived in Belknap and Forman. She enjoyed spending time volunteering for the 4-H girl’s club, babysitting, fixing meals for her family and visitors, and also baking cakes for weddings and birthdays. Sharon and Max were foster parents for a few years. On January 25, 1972, she gave birth to their first child, Elizabeth Janae. On March 2, 1974, their son, Donald Lane was born and on July 29, 1980, their daughter, Rachel Lynn was born. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur “Wib” Orange and Vivian “Sid” (Parker) Orange. She is survived by her sister, Jo Ann McNew, as well as her husband, her three children, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sharon was loved by many and always enjoyed having company. She spent her final days surrounded by family and friends and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning, November 9, 2024, at 11 A.M. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Pastor Richard Swiney will officiate. A eulogy will be shared by Mr. Donnie Vaughn. Burial will be in the Belknap Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, November 8, 2024, from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. at the funeral home. There will also be a time of visitation Saturday morning, November 9, 2024, from 10 A.M. until the funeral hour at 11 A.M. Honored to serve as pallbearers – Beth Jackson, Donald Hutchison, Rachel Womack, Zane Hutchison, Dale Kean, and Jason Womack.
