Ruby E. Denison

Ruby E. Denison, age 92 years, a resident of Buncombe, Illinois and a former resident of Bradley, Illinois, went to her forever home on Sunday morning, January 22, 2017, at 7:30 AM from the Hillview Health Care Center in Vienna. Ruby was born July 9, 1924 in Carterville. She was the daughter of George and Freida “Pearl” Bloodworth Jones. Her mother passed away when Ruby was less than two years old. Ruby’s father later married Lucille (Garner) Jones and she raised Ruby. Ruby was united in marriage to Randall Denison on January 30, 1946 in Marion, Illinois. He preceded her in death on August 15, 1995. Ruby is survived by: her children – Evelyn (Carlos) Street of Ozark, Jerry Denison of Bradley, Nyla (Bill) Johnson of Bradley and Tammy (Gary) Denison of Vienna; 9 grandchildren – Rob Street of Ozark, Randy Denison of Bourbonnais, Brandon Denison of Marion, Michael Neumann of Bradley, Della Naese of Buncombe, Angela Kerley of Simpson, Miketa Warren of Vienna and Guy Simmons of Kankakee; a host of great and great-great grandchildren; and a sister – Anna Mae Bargesser of Mt. Vernon. In addition to her parents and husband, Ruby was preceded in death by a son – Randy Denison in February 1968; a granddaughter – Misty Neumann in March 1977; and 2 brothers – Leonard Jones and Bob Jones. Ruby was a graduate of the Goreville High School. She was employed by the U.S. Postal Service. Ruby worked as a postal clerk at the Kankakee Post Office until her retirement in August 1986. Ruby enjoyed gospel singing, attending church, and spending time with her family. She cherished her grandbabies and loved them all very much. A funeral service honoring the life of Ruby E. Denison will be conducted Tuesday afternoon, January 24, 2017, at 2 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Rev. Kenny Blumenstock along with Ruby’s great grandson, Dylan Street, will officiate. Burial will be in the Cana Cemetery, north of Goreville. Visitation will be from 12 Noon – 2 PM Tuesday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
