Robert A. Behm

Robert (Bob) Alvin Behm Age: 81 years A resident of Tunnel Hill, Illinois On- August 22, 2010- Bob went home to God to be with his dad and other family members. He was born on September 14, 1928 to Fred and Viola Behm in Elgin, IL. He married Marilyn Schult on June 22, 1950 and she survives. He spent his last years retired in Tunnel Hill and loved doing his yard work, riding his 4 wheeler, and relaxing, playing cards and being with his family. He was a plaster finisher for most of his life, then worked for Suberban Plastics in Elgin. He was a member of the American Legions and a World War II Veteran on the USS Arnab. He was also the best husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather you could of asked for. We all loved him dearly and will miss him everyday of our lives. He was fun, happy, and stood by his family always and he lived by his word to everyone. He is survived by his loving family that adored him, wife Marilyn Behm, daughters Barbara (Behm) Johnson and husband Terry, Debbie (Behm) Durrance, grandchildren Holly (Seyller) Houk and husband Russ, Jo Seyller, Eric Durrance, Chad Durrance, and Brandy (Johnson) Reames and husband Danny. great grandchildren Kelsey Ann Houk, Tristan Ray Johnson, and Abigail Ann Houk. Also great friends Buzz and Cheri Baxter, Yvonne Fox, Ed and Donna Ferrier, Sandy and Glen Durrance and Vicki and Rick Baxter, and his beloved dogs Squirt, Bear and Charlie. He also left behind many dear friends and former co-workers who will miss him. Bob was loved by everyone who knew him. He was a straight shooter and always told us to live our lives as we would want others to treat us. He was the greatest dad and grampa anyone could ask for, extremely funny and a very hard worker. He was the best dad you could ever have and carried that through as a grampa and great grampa. He loved his family more than anything in the world and would do anything in the world for them. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Viola (Widder) Behm, a sister, Marion Behm, in laws, Carl and Viola (Krunfus) Schult, many aunts and uncles and cousins, also many great friends. When you live to be 81 there are not a lot of friends left, but a lot of family to love you. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date and the family will notify friends. He wanted to be buried in Tunnel Hill a place he came to love more and more everyday. Memorials may be made to the family for funeral expenses.
