Bobby was born March 10, 1967 in Metropolis, Illinois. He was the son of William F. and Wilma J. (Hines) Newton. In addition to his mother, Bobby is survived by: 2 children – Tara Newton of Anna, Illinois and William Newport III of Peoria, Illinois; his fiancé – April Calvert of Ozark, Illinois; bonus children – Jericka Calvert of Johnston City, Illinois and Zacharia Calvert of Carterville, Illinois; grandchildren – Matty, Juniper, James, Jade, Randi, Milly, Jazmin, and Mazelynn; his brothers – William E. (Tammy) Newton of Ozark, Illinois and Steven A. (Jessica) Newton of Harrisburg, Illinois; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. In addition to his father, Bobby was preceded in death by a bonus daughter – Emilia Grace Calvert and his sister – Priscilla June Hill. Bobby attended Vienna High School. He was a lifelong semi-truck driver and shade tree mechanic. For the past nine years, Bobby was employed as a mechanic by Hill’s Trash Service and was Tony’s “right-hand-man.” Bobby is remembered for his love of “tinkering.” He was always busy working. Bobby was of the Christian faith. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon, July 9, 2024, at 2:30 P.M. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Bobby's brother, William Newton, will officiate. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery, east of Ozark, Illinois. Visitation will be held Monday, July 8, 2024, from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-1905 or to the family and may be left in the care of Bailey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 695, Vienna, Illinois 62995.
