Ramon Webb

Ramon Webb, age 94 years, a resident of rural Vienna, Illinois, passed away Monday evening, February 16, 2026, at 6:31 P.M. at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. Ramon was born June 4, 1931 in Buncombe, Illinois. He was the son of Owen and Emma (Mighell) Webb. On August 8, 1954, Ramon was united in marriage to Irene Deaton at the New Burnside Baptist Church. Together, Ramon and Irene shared over 71 years of marriage. In addition to his wife, Ramon is survived by: 2 daughters – Judith (Paul) Rippelmeyer of Archer, Florida and Jan (Brent) Mosier of Bixby, Oklahoma; 3 grandchildren – Derek (Marlinda) Trieglaff, Drew Trieglaff, and Katie Huse; 6 great grandchildren – Josie, Erik, Leah, Mariah, Owen, and Finnegan; 2 brothers – Owen Lee Webb of Vienna, Illinois and Ronald (Virginia) Webb of Cypress, Illinois; a sister – Joyce Reichert of Carbondale, Illinois; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, Ramon was preceded in death by: a granddaughter – Diana Mosier; a sister – Sylvia Webb; and 2 brothers – Ralph Webb and Raleigh Webb. Ramon was a 1950 graduate of Vienna High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Ramon was employed for many years as a machinist by Flintkote in Chicago Heights, Illinois. In 1980, Ramon and Irene retired to their farm in Johnson County. He was a member of the Johnson County Farm Bureau and had served for over 25 years as a member of the Johnson County Housing Authority Board. Ramon had a love of the outdoors and was an avid quail and pheasant hunter. Ramon was a faithful Christian. He was ordained as a deacon in 1964 at Temple Baptist Church in South Chicago Heights, Illinois. He continued his service, following his retirement and return to Southern Illinois, at the First Baptist Church in Goreville, where he and Irene were dedicated members. A service honoring the life of Ramon Webb will be conducted Thursday afternoon, February 19, 2026, at 1:30 P.M. at the First Baptist Church, 608 West Main St., Goreville, Illinois. Dr. Stephen Seaford and Dr. Glenn Webb will officiate. For those unable to personally attend the service, it will be shared livestream on the First Baptist Church – Goreville Facebook page. Burial will be in the Webb Cemetery, near Tunnel Hill. Military honors will be accorded by the Beggs-Gurley VFW Post # 5222. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 12:30 P.M. until the funeral hour at 1:30 P.M. at the church. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, P.O.
