Pauletta Bailey

Pauletta (Wallace) Bailey, age 71 years, a resident of Harrisburg, Illinois, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, February 22, 2020, at 9:43 PM at her home with her daughter, granddaughter (Cyndie) and nephew (Mike) by her bedside. Pauletta, also known as Mom, Aunt Paulie, Paula and Nana, worked for many years as a CNA, then as a social worker at the former Pope County Care Center in Golconda. She was a kind, sweet and generous lady who loved the Lord and enjoyed talking about Him and praying with others. She looked forward to worshiping God at New Life Full Gospel Church, which she became a member of on July 8, 2018. Pauletta raised her children to be kind and respectful to everyone and taught them about Jesus and God's love. She enjoyed visits from her family and friends, which she received many of during her last days on Earth, and you could tell from her smiles and reactions that she loved every single visit. Anytime Pauletta went anywhere she always dressed to look nice, but she spent most of her time making sure her hair looked perfect. Pauletta was born on August 11, 1948 in Pope County, Illinois to Lottis and Ula (Crabb) Wallace whom she is now with again. Others she was reunited with in Heaven include her newborn son, Jeffery Paul Wallace; her paternal grandparents - James Washington "Washie" & Lura Wallace; her maternal grandparents - Otto & Della Crabb; her sister, Gloria (Wallace) Lay; and her former husband Phillip (Cuz) Bailey. She leaves behind the following survivors who already miss her dearly: children, Misti and Kevin Sandefur of the Delwood community & Matt and Christi Bailey of Harrisburg, IL.; sister Laura Dean and Wendell Vaughn of the Mitchellsville community; 7 grandchildren, Cynthynie (Cyndie), James (JB) and Joseph (Joe) Jackson, Brenna and Blane Bailey, Christopher (Chris) and Candice Sandefur; 7 great grandchildren, Madison Jackson, Serenity Wilson, Charolette Brinkley, Joseph (Jojo), Greyson, Aubrianna and Josiah Jackson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends. A celebration of the life of Pauletta Bailey will be conducted Friday afternoon, February 28, 2020, at 1 PM at New Life Full Gospel Church, 924 Cedar Street, Harrisburg, Illinois. Pastor Blake Clayton will officiate. Burial will be in the Boulden Cemetery, west of Eddyville. Visitation will be held Friday, February 28, 2020, from 11 AM – 1 PM at New Life Full Gospel Church.
