Norma Jean Newton Age: 76 A resident of Buncombe, Illinois. Passed away Sunday morning, May 8, 2011, at 4:15 AM at Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis, Illinois. Norma was born February 9, 1935 in the Mountain Glen community (Union County) Illinois. She was the daughter of James Clarence Kerley and Etta Mae (Claxton) Kerley. Norma was united in marriage to James Newton on May 7, 1966 in Peoria, Illinois. He survives. Palmer of Vienna, IL Eula Edith McManus of Peoria, IL Eva Aline Wheat of Copperas Cove, TX In addition to her Parents, Norma was preceded in death by A Son - Garry Newton 4 Brothers - William Russell Kerley, James Elvis Kerley, Delbert W. Kerley, & Paul L. Kerley A Sister - Arretta Mae Kerley Norma was a homemaker. She had worked in a bakery and pie factory. Norma had also worked in a meat market. She was later employed as an in-home health care provider. Norma was a charter member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Peoria, IL. Norma and Jim enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity to travel extensively throughout the United States and Canada. Funeral services will be held Wednesday evening, May 11, 2011, at 7 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Friends may call from 5 PM - 7 PM Wednesday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Burial will be in the Rock Springs Cemetery near Simpson, IL. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4503 W. DeYoung Street, Suite 200C, Marion, IL 62959.
