Michelle Akins Aumiller

Michelle Lynn Akins Aumiller, age 31 years, a resident of Vienna, passed away Friday, January 6, 2023, at SIH Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Michelle was born May 23, 1991 in Carbondale, Illinois. She was the daughter of Matt and Mona (Reeder) Akins. Michelle is survived by: her children – Amora and Emmitt; her parents – Matt and Mona Akins of Simpson; a brother – Zack Akins; a niece and nephew – Allie and T.J., as well as a large host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, church family, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents – Royce and Dessie Reeder, her paternal grandparents – Mack and Vivienne Akins; and 3 uncles – Tim Reeder, Bob Reeder, and Alan Akins. She was followed in death by her husband, Rob Aumiller. Michelle was a 2009 graduate of Vienna High School. She attended Southeastern Illinois College at Harrisburg and received certification as a massage therapist. Michelle had worked at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado as the billing officer and for the past six months had been employed at Integrated Health Care in Carterville. Michelle loved music and playing the piano. She also enjoyed sports activities and hunting. She cherished time spent hanging out with her family and friends. She adored her children and was a loving mother. Michelle was a member of Gilead Cumberland Presbyterian Church, near Simpson. A Celebration of the Life of Michelle Akins Aumiller will be conducted Saturday afternoon, January 21, 2023, at 12 Noon at Gilead Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 4385 Gilead Church Road, Simpson, Illinois. Pastor Doug Hughes will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Gilead Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10 AM - 12 Noon Saturday, January 21, 2023, at the church.
