Martin J. "Jack" Favors Age: 71 years A resident of rural Creal Springs, IL (the Lake of Egypt) and a former resident of Manteno, Illinois. Passed away Friday afternoon, May 23, 2008, at 1 PM at his home. Jack was born January 29, 1937 in Buncombe, IL. He was the son of Andrew Roy Favors & Grace Mae (Caraker) Favors McIntire. Jack was united in marriage to Barbara (Melton) Favors in Manteno, IL. She survives. Other survivors include: a Son - Michael A. & Lillian Favors of Tunnel Hill, IL 2 Daughters - Renee & Curtis Hoots of Manteno, IL Gina & Robert Zimmerman of Sacramento, CA 5 Grandchildren - Curt & Heidi Hoots; Stephanie & Ernie Martin; Martin Favors; Nicholas Favors; & Madelyn Geary 3 Step Grandchildren - Hannah Zimmerman Madison Zimmerman Greg Rowatt 5 Great Grandchildren - Trenton Hoots; Tyler Hoots; Brea Hoots; Dylan Martin; and Logan Martin a Step Great Granddaughter - Gabrielle Martin a Sister - Lois Sotello of Glendale, AZ His Step Mother - Hazel Favors of Champaign, IL 2 Step Sisters - Anita McIntire and Sue Browning a Half Brother - David & Sue McIntire 2 Step Brothers - Roger & Darlene McIntire and Ronald & Sue Farris An Aunt - Loisdene Smith of Tunnel Hill, IL Several Nieces & Nephews In addition to his Parents, Jack was preceded in death by: 2 Sisters - Mary Henshaw and Betty Newby His Step Father - Ernest McIntire Jack was a 1955 graduate of Manteno High School. He was employed as a cement finisher by Triangle Construction Co. in Kankakee, IL for many years. Jack was a member of the Laborer's Union. He was also a member of the Sons of the Veterans of Foreign Wars organization. Jack was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter & fisherman. Jack enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Manteno Golf Course. He also enjoyed bowling and was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan. Jack loved spending time with his family and was a friend to all who had the privilege of knowing him. A Graveside Service will be conducted Saturday afternoon, May 31, 2008, at 2:30 PM at the Cedar Grove Cemetery, near Buncombe, IL. Rev. Richard Martin will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 PM - 2 PM Saturday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois, 204 Halfway Road, Marion, IL 62959.
