Lottie Mae Parker

Lottie Mae (Orange) Parker, age 89 years, a resident of rural Cypress, passed away Saturday morning, March 28, 2015, at 4:01 AM at her home. Lottie was born February 23, 1926 in Cambridge, Kentucky. She was the daughter of John Spencer Orange and Minnie Lee (Vanhuser) Orange. On January 3, 1942, Lottie was united in marriage to Wilburn H. “Cotton” Parker in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He preceded her in death on February 12, 1991. Survivors include: her sons – Tommy (Theresa) Parker of Missouri and Danny (June) Parker of Tennessee; 6 grandchildren – Michael Keith (Jenea) Parker, Matthew (Amanda) Parker, Dustin Ledbetter, Donnie Ray (Jeanie) Ledbetter, Tammy (Gerald) Schaffer and Larry Parker; 8 great grandchildren – Garrett Parker, Zeth Parker, Xander Parker, Abigale Parker, Delilah Parker, Nicholas Ledbetter, Larry Parker Jr., and Jeremy Schaffer; a sister – Myrtle Larrison of Metropolis; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Lottie was preceded in death by: a daughter – Dian Ledbetter and 4 brothers – Paul, Carl, Melvin, & Wilbur Orange. Lottie was a graduate of the Belknap High School. She had been employed for approximately 9 years as the site supervisor for the “Whistlers and Whittlers” Nutrition Center in Johnson County. Lottie attended the Bethany Baptist Church at Cypress. She faithfully read her Bible every morning and had read it through several times. Lottie enjoyed gardening and canning, as well as sewing. She was a wonderful cook and enjoying feeding people. All were welcome in her home to share a meal. Lottie is fondly remembered for her dedication of service to others; for a heart full of love for anyone that needed it; and for being a friend to all. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, March 30, 2015, at 2 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Pastor Jay Franklin officiated. Burial was in the Belknap Masonic Cemetery. Visitation was conducted from 5 PM - 7 PM Sunday, March 29, 2015, at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
