Lora Clark

Lora Lynn Ames Clark, age 55 years, a resident of Vienna, passed away Sunday morning, October 15, 2023, at 6 AM at the Metropolis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Lora was born May 11, 1968 at Marion Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of Joseph Raymond Ames and Lois L. (Lovell) Ames. Lora is survived by: her children – Ashly (Tyler) Johnson, Tyler (Ali) Huckelberry, Kyle (Berna) Huckelberry, and Jerica Clark; 9 grandchildren – Landon, Rileigh, and Aiden Johnson, Jaxson, Owen, and Harper Huckelberry, Jaiden and Ryan Harris, and Emma Huckelberry; her siblings – Sharon (Terry) Grissom, Joseph (Wanda) Ames, Dennis (Toni) Ames, James (Julie) Ames, and Robert (Brenda) Ames; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents, Lora was preceded in death by an infant sister – Christina Rae Ames. Lora was a member of the Vienna High School class of 1986. She later attended Shawnee Community College and earned a associate degree. Lora was employed for many years by Shawnee Community College, most recently serving as a workforce training specialist/TCC and driver safety coordinator. In her spare time, Lora enjoyed many hobbies, including – sewing, quilting, creating arts and crafts, puppet making, and collecting, especially paperwork. She also enjoyed spending time camping and cherished time spent with her family. Lora was of the Christian faith. A service honoring the life of Lora Ames Clark will be conducted Wednesday evening, October 18, 2023, at 7 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 4 PM – 7 PM at the funeral home. A committal service will be held Thursday morning, October 19, 2023, at 10:30 AM at Cedar Grove Cemetery near Buncombe. Those attending the committal are invited to meet at the funeral home prior to the departure time of the procession at 10 AM Thursday morning. Memorials may be made to the family for the establishment of an educational fund to benefit Lora’s daughter, Jerica. Please make checks payable to Ashly Johnson.
