Mrs. Linda Pennington

Linda Sue Pennington Aged 61 years Resident of Simpson, Illinois Linda Sue Pennington passed away at 8:07 PM on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Carbondale Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Illinois. She was born on June 5, 1950 in Metropolis, Illinois the daughter of the late Buddy and Florida (Baynes) Johnston and had attained the age 61. She married Glen Pennington on February 14, 1980 in Simpson and he survives. Linda enjoyed spending time with her family and also liked to cook, do the grocery shopping and loved the company of her dogs. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Pennington is survived by her children, Jimmie Pennington and his fiancé Barbara Averitt of Joppa, Illinois, Tammy and her husband Percy Ford of Carlyle, Illinois, Chris and his wife Connie Pennington of Cypress, Illinois and Andy Pennington of Simpson, Illinois, 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, her siblings, Norma Cavitt of Paducah, Kentucky, Faye and her husband Jackie Braffen of Paducah, Kentucky, James Johnston of Metropolis, Illinois, Phillip and his wife Roxanne Johnston of Metropolis, Illinois, Jerry Johnston of Metropolis, Illinois, Vicky and her husband J.R. Hall of Metropolis, Illinois and Cathy Darnell of Metropolis, Illinois and by several nieces and nephews. Linda was a Godmother to Desiree Walton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Lloyd “Pee Wee” Johnston and Stevie Johnston, Sisters, Mary Hornback and Rhoda Peck, mother in law Ethel Pennington, a nephew Matthew Peck and by a great nephew Jackson Pruett. A funeral ceremony will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at the Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna with Pastor David Wright officiating. Interment will follow at Rock Springs Cemetery in Simpson, Illinois. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 until 7 PM at the funeral home.
