Larry W. Taylor Age: 66 years A resident of New Burnside, IL. Passed away Saturday evening, July 21, 2007, at the Barnes-Jewish Medical Center in St. Louis, MO. Born: July 19, 1941 in Vienna, IL. He was the son of Ralph H. Taylor & Gladys L. (Wright) Taylor. Larry was united in marriage to Judy G. Morris on October 12, 1963 at the New Burnside Methodist Church. She survives. Other survivors include: 2 Daughters: Patricia & Tim Estes of Metropolis, IL Glenda E. Taylor of Jacksonville, FL a Son: Patrick & Anita Taylor of Ozark, MO 5 Grandchildren: Brocton Estes Gracie Estes Michael Dickson Nicholas Bollinger Thomas Taylor a Sister: Suzanne & Gary Vinson of Vienna, IL a Son-in-Law: Greg Taylor of Vienna, IL a Brother-in-Law: Bill Cross of New Burnside, IL a Sister-in-Law: Carol Wall of New Burnside, IL Aunts, an Uncle, Nieces & Nephews He was preceded in death by his Parents, Ralph & Gladys Taylor Larry was a 1959 graduate of the Vienna High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1966-1970. Larry was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Larry was a graduate of John A. Logan Community College with an Associate Degree in Mining Technology. He was employed by the State of Illinois job placement service, later transferring to the Illinois Dept. of Corrections. Larry worked at the Vienna Correctional Center, Shawnee Correctional Center, and Hardin County Work Camp as a counselor in job placement services. Larry was an avid outdoorsman, especially enjoying hunting & fishing. He was a member of the River Oaks Chapter # 516 of Quail Unlimited. Larry served for 26 years as the New Burnside Village President. He was a member of the Illinois Sheriffƒ?Ts Association. Larry was a devoted member of the New Burnside Methodist Church, where he had served in numerous capacities, including serving as a church deacon and Sunday school teacher. Larry enjoyed reading and watching classic movies. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday morning, July 25, 2007, at 11 AM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Rev. Jim Lambert will officiate. Interment will be in the New Burnside Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be accorded by Beggs-Gurley VFW Post 5222 of Vienna, IL. Friends may call after 5 PM Tuesday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
