Larry E. King Age: 65 years A resident of Cypress, Illinois Passed away unexpectedly Monday, December 24, 2012, at 10:42 AM near Cypress. Larry was born August 26, 1947 in Anna, Illinois. He was the son of Merrill & June (Brown) King. Larry was united in marriage to Jean Anderson on January 6, 1967 at the New Hope Baptist Church in Anna, Illinois. She survives. Other survivors include: His Father – Merrill King of Melbourne, FL A Daughter – LaRay Capron, and her husband Scott, of Cypress, IL A Son – Jason King, and his wife Sarah, of Cypress, IL 7 Grandchildren - Jaron Willis, Jamison Willis, Baylee King, Jennifer Capron, Kolten Bates, Addison Hennesy & Cadence Hennesy 4 Sisters – Marsha Womick, and her husband Herb, of Melbourne, FL Linda Hillpot, and her husband Larry of Melbourne, FL Nancy Martin, and her husband Jerry, of Sarasota, FL Carol Bass, and her husband C.E., of Anna, IL Nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends Larry was preceded in death by: His Mother – June (Brown) King A Brother – Mark King An infant Granddaughter – Emily King Larry was a 1965 graduate of Anna-Jonesboro High School. He was a long-time member of the I.U.O.E. (International Union of Operating Engineers) Local # 318 and had been employed throughout his working career as an operating engineer. Larry was a former member of the Cypress Village Board and had been very instrumental in the development and construction of the Cypress Village Park. Larry was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially rabbit hunting. He also was a tireless worker and loved doing things for others. His love of gardening allowed him to give fresh produce to friends and neighbors throughout the community. Larry was also a member of the Cypress Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, December 28, 2012, at 1 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Burial will be In St. John’s Cemetery, near Dongola. Visitation will be from 10 AM – 1 PM Friday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Memorials may be made to the Caledonia Christian Academy, 10076 State Route 37, Olmsted, IL 62970.
