Kevin Alan Williams

Kevin Alan Williams, age 55 years, of Hillsboro, Tennessee and a former resident of Olmsted and Vienna, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2019, at Barnes – Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Kevin was born March 28, 1964 in Anna, Illinois. He was the seventh of nine children born to Robert “Cecil” and Ruby (Earnhart) Williams. Kevin was united in marriage to Glenda Kay Rose on June 30, 1995 at Vienna, Illinois. She survives. In addition to his wife, Kevin is survived by: his children – Timothy Alan Williams of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Melinda Nicole Williams of West Allis, Wisconsin, James Allen (Holly) Anderson of Bonaire, Georgia, and Dennis Stephen (Stephanie) Anderson of Karnak; 6 grandchildren – Hailey, Hunter, Colton, and Makayla Williams, and Morgan & Justin Shepherd; a great grandson – Asher Watson; 3 sisters – Donna Willeford of Vienna, Debra Kohlbacher of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Karen (Tony) Elder of San Antonio, Texas; 4 brothers – Jerry (Glenda) Williams of Carterville, Gary (Ellen) Williams of Vienna, David (Christine) Williams of Marion, Texas, and Keith Williams of Stonefort; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives & many dear friends. Kevin was anticipating the birth of another grandson in August 2019. In addition to his parents, Kevin was preceded in death by: a son – Michael Lee Anderson and a Sister – Sherry Kay Bagby. Kevin was a 1982 graduate of Vienna High School. Following graduation, Kevin joined the U.S. Air Force. He was honorably discharged in 1992, having attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. Kevin was employed as a maintenance supervisor by Shawnee Development Council. He also worked at Transcraft, Inc. in Anna and assisted his brother, Gary, in his construction and carpentry business. Kevin was also employed by the Illinois Department of Corrections. He had been employed at the Tamms Correctional Center later transferring to the Vienna Correctional Center. He retired March 28, 2019. Kevin was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to fish and was a member of B.A.S.S. (Bassmasters). Kevin also enjoyed boating, camping, motorcycling and off-road riding. He was a crafted woodworker. Kevin is fondly remembered as the “Bingo Caller” at the Vienna Beggs-Gurley VFW Post for many years. A service honoring the life of Kevin Williams will be conducted Thursday, May 2, 2019, at 1 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Rev. Gene Edwards will officiate. The family invites those attending to dress casually and comfortably. Burial will be in the Cypress Cemetery. Military graveside honors will be accorded by the Beggs-Gurley VFW Post # 5222 and the U.S. Air Force Burial Honors detail. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 2, 2019, from 11 AM – 1 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
