Kenneth D. Brutlag

Kenneth D. Brutlag, age 78 years, a resident of New Burnside, Illinois since 2003 and a former resident of Clifton, Illinois for over 30 years, passed away Tuesday morning, August 2, 2022, at 3:39 AM at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Illinois. Kenneth was born July 30, 1944 in Woodworth, Illinois. He was the son of Elvin and Sena (Schuster) Brutlag. On October 16, 1965, Kenneth was united in marriage to Iris Stewart in Crescent City, Illinois. She survives. Kenneth is also survived by: 3 sons – Kenneth (Deborah) Brutlag of Aurora, Illinois, Johnathan Brutlag of Murphy, North Carolina, and James (Julie) Brutlag of Evansville, Indiana; 3 grandchildren – Alex (Arin) Brutlag of Springfield, Missouri, Jacob Brutlag of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Teresa Brutlag of Aurora, Illinois; 2 great grandchildren – Rowan Brutlag and Robin Brutlag; 2 step grandchildren – Angela DeWig and Devin DeWig; 2 step great grandchildren – MacKenzie Sutton and Jackson Sutton; 3 brothers – Norman (Cecillia) Brutlag of St. Anne, Illinois, Richard Brutlag of Mattoon, Illinois, and Gerald Brutlag of Watseka, Illinois; 2 sisters – Lois Mowrey of Morris Chapel, Tennessee and Judy (Robert) Jackson of Papineau, Illinois; and a sister-in-law – Joyce Brutlag of Potomac, Illinois. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Sena Brutlag; a brother – LuVern Brutlag; and a sister – Joyce Bullock. Kenneth was a 1963 graduate of Central High School in Clifton, Illinois. He was employed by the State of Illinois as an IDOT and construction worker for 31 years, prior to his retirement in 2002. Kenneth enjoyed working in his yard and mowing. He was also a dedicated genealogy researcher. He was a member of the Lutheran faith. A memorial service honoring the life of Kenneth D. Brutlag will be conducted Saturday morning, August 13, 2022, at 11 AM at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 403 North Colfax Street, Crescent City, Illinois 60928. The church pastor, Rev. Joel Brown, will officiate. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10 AM – 11 AM Saturday, August 13, 2022, at the church.
