Julie Ann Taylor

Julie Ann Taylor, daughter of Ronald Gene Taylor and Joyce Ann (Summers) Taylor, was born September 6, 1980 in Paducah, KY. She departed this life unexpectedly Wednesday night, October 29, 2008 at 8:30 PM at her home in St. Louis, Missouri. At the time of her passing, Julie had attained the age of 28 years 1 month and 24 days. Survivors include: Her Parents - Ron & Joyce Taylor of Metropolis, IL; a Sister - Amy Jeffords, and her husband Corey, of Metropolis, IL; a Nephew - Noah Jeffords; a Niece - Isabelle Jeffords; Maternal Grandmother - Sally Summers of Vienna, IL; Paternal Grandparents - Gilbert & Verna Taylor of Vienna, IL; Her Boyfriend - David Michael Webb of Ozark, IL; 2 Uncles - Greg Taylor, and his wife Vicky, of Olathe, Kansas and John Summers, and his wife Vicki, of Vienna, IL; Cousins - Reagan Summers and Grayson Summers, Andy & Bonnie Taylor & family and Michelle Taylor. Julie was preceded in death by her Maternal Grandfather - Carl Summers. Julie was a devoted Christian and lived every day boldly for the Lord. She had served as a youth intern at the Farina First United Methodist Church, and later as youth director at the O'Fallon United Methodist Church. She served as a missionary to the country of Turkey for a year, before continuing her education at the Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. Julie later returned to Turkey for a summer missionary internship. Julie was a May 2008 graduate of Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, MO where she received a Masters Degree in Divinity and a Masters Degree in Counseling. Since her graduation, Julie has been employed as a transfer counselor at the Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis, Missouri and at "Live at Peace" Counseling Center also in St. Louis. Julie was a member of the Metropolis First United Methodist Church and also attended the Riverside Community Church in St. Louis, MO. She was active in the Little Egypt Walk to Emmaus and Little Egypt Chrysalis communities. Julie loved spending time with her family & many friends and also enjoyed reading, dancing, singing, and making cross-stitch hand crafted items. Funeral services will be conducted Monday morning, November 3, 2008, at 11 AM at the Metropolis First United Methodist Church, 100 E. 5th St., Metropolis, IL. Rev. Gary Motta will officiate. Interment will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 5 PM Sunday at the Metropolis First United Methodist Church. Additionally, the family will receive friends from 10 AM - 11 AM Monday at the church. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 1 PM Saturday, November 1, 2008, in the chapel of the Covenant Theological Seminary, 12330 Conway Road, St. Louis, MO.
