James W. "Wolf" Blankenship

James “Wolf” William Blankenship, age 69 years, a resident of Vienna, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday evening, November 8, 2022, at 8:09 PM at his home. Jim was born January 30, 1953 in Athens, Alabama. He was the son of Robert Lee and Roberta R. (Robinson) Blankenship. In 1972, Jim was united in marriage to Carla Hester in Mount Prospect, Illinois. She preceded him in death on December 18, 1991. Jim is survived by: a daughter – Heather (her husband, Stanley) Shinn of Vienna; granddaughters – Alyssia Donovan Van Zile, Serenity Jade Van Zile, and Devan Jaylea Wolf Van Zile; his siblings – Lynn Blankenship of Oregon, Mitch Casey of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Anthony Casey of Mayfield, Kentucky, and Amy Casey of Durham, North Carolina; nieces and nephews – Mikki Tsikretsis, Melody Coble, Mikey DePaul, and Jason Thimoleas. He was preceded in death by his father – Robert Blankenship; his mother – Roberta Jerome; his wife – Carla Blankenship; a daughter – Diane Lea Blankenship; and a sister – Linda Keippel. Jim attended DePaul University. Jim’s working career included serving as a consultant for Amoco Research in Naperville, Illinois, a Manager/Programmer/Analyst at CNA Financial Corporation in Chicago, a project manager for Capsco-Pallm Systems, Inc., an account manager for DataTech Software, Inc., and a Manager/Project Manager/Project Leader for the Westfield Group. From 2001-2006, Jim served as the assistant Vice President of First Insurance Company of Hawaii in Honolulu. From 2007-2008, he was a director of AmComp, Inc in North Palm Beach, Florida and from 2008-2016, he served as enterprise architect (M&A IT) Integrations at State Auto Insurance Company in Columbus, Ohio. Jim has served as a hands-on senior enterprise architect with over 35 years of IT experience, primarily in delivering business value thru guiding the development and enhancement of insurance solutions. He owned and operated Wolf Technology, Inc, Subset Co. Group 532. Jim was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2117 and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge # 2070 both in Wadsworth, Ohio. Jim was an avid reader and blogger. He was a member of Toastmasters, International. Jim was of the Catholic faith.
