Fern A. Mullinax

Fern A. Mullinax, daughter of Otis Dunn & Lillie (Johnson) Dunn, was born June 11, 1915 in the Forman Community of Massac County, Illinois. She departed this life Monday morning, December 12, 2005 at 6:45 AM at her home following an extended battle with cancer. At the time of her passing, Fern had attained the age of 90 years, 6 months & 1 day. Fern was united in marriage to John ƒ?oSonnieƒ?? Mullinax on September 21, 1935 in Vienna, IL. He preceded her in death in 1972. Survivors include: 3 Sisters ƒ?" Marjorie Muehlenbein of Vienna, IL, Lucille Bunch of Metropolis, IL, Dorothy & John Kelley of Vienna, IL; A Brother ƒ?" Glenn & Elizabeth Dunn of Fairfield, IL; Several Nieces & Nephews In addition to her Parents & Husband, Fern was preceded in death by: 4 Brothers ƒ?" Paul Dunn, Webster Dunn, Clifton Dunn & Weldon Dunn; 2 Sisters ƒ?" Edna Dunn & Marilene West Fern was a Payroll Secretary at the Chicago State Hospital prior to her retirement in 1971. She was a member of the Egyptian Chapter #30 Order of the Eastern Star. Fern was a Charter member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Vienna, where she had previously taught adult Sunday School classes, sang in the church choir, served on the flower committee, the fellowship committee, and was a member of the building committee at the time of the churchƒ?Ts construction. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, canning & cooking. Fern was loved by all who knew her. Fern will leaves her family & many dear friends to cherish her memory. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon, December 15, 2005 at 1:30 PM at the Fellowship Baptist Church. The body will lie-in-state at the church from 12 Noon ƒ?" 1:30 PM. Rev. Steve Lindsay & Rev. Jerry Day will officiate. Burial will be in the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery. Friends may call after 5 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna, IL.
