Everett L. Palmer

Everett Len Palmer Age: 81 years A resident of Jonesboro, Illinois. Passed away Friday, August 21, 2009, at 8:15 PM at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Everett was born November 12, 1927 in the Glendale community of Pope County Illinois. He was the son of Olin Palmer & Lottie Jane (Wells) Palmer. Everett was united in marriage to Alice G. (nee Wright) on July 3, 2000 at Vienna, Illinois. She preceded him in death on December 20, 2006. Survivors include: His Children: Everett S. Palmer of San Diego, CA Debbie L. Palmer of Tampa, FL Olin "Preston" Palmer of Christopher, IL Sheila J. Munsell of Anna, IL Tracy J. Palmer of Lakeland, FL Bart A. Palmer of Eldorado, IL Everett L. "Jay" Palmer, Jr. of Michigan Willadean Jane Marie Palmer of Brookport, IL 4 Grandchildren: Dustin Wayne Stricklin Kyle Joseph Palmer Faithanne Renee' Palmer William Everett Palmer 2 Sisters: Flo Dunning of the Flatwoods community Maxine Huckleberry of Grantsburg, IL Several Nieces & Nephews In addition to his Parents and Wife, Everett was preceded in death by: an Infant Granddaughter - Larissa Danielle Palmer 2 Sisters - Priscilla Robinson and Cleo Allen an Infant Brother - Frankie Leonard a Step Brother - Justin Austin Everett was a U.S. army veteran. He was stationed in Korea during World War II. Everett was first employed as a member of a work crew by the Illinois Central Railroad. He later worked as a delivery truck driver. Everett was a member of the County Line Baptist Church in the Flatwoods community. He enjoyed listening to country western music, telling war stories and fishing for catfish. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at 10 AM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Brother Mitch Garrett will officiate. Burial will be in the Glendale Cemetery in Pope County, IL. Military graveside rites will be accorded by the Beggs-Gurley VFW Post 5222 of Vienna and the Illinois Burial Honors Detail.
