Douglas D. Wright, age 82 years & 4 months, a resident of Dongola, IL and a former resident of Johnson County Illinois. Passed away Tuesday morning, August 8, 2006, at 6:48 AM at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Marion, IL. He was born April 8, 1924 at Homburg (Pope County) Illinois. He was the son of Douglas B. Wright and Edith (Blades) Wright. Douglas was united in marriage to Rettie Mae Lauderdale on April 15, 1947. She preceded him in death on May 8, 1997. Survivors include: His 12 Children: Kenneth & Barbara Wright of Dunnellen, FL, Dan & Sharon Wright of Bimble, KY, Ron & Shelby Wright of Zanesville, OH, Roy & Joanna Wright of Franklin, NH, Brenda Hutchison of Cobden, IL, Faye & David Noe of Pekin, IL, Marsha & Butch Dillow of Pensacola, FL, Martha & Steve Sievers of Anna, IL Mildred ƒ?oMidiƒ?? & Rex Howard Sr. of Scott City, MO, Jim Wright of Wetaug, IL, Teresa & Robert Hansil of Anna, IL, Lori & Daryl Driver of Paducah, KY; 28 Grandchildren; 2 Step Grandchildren; 45 Great Grandchildren; 9 Step Great Grandchildren 3 Brothers: Carlos & Rose Wright of Herrin, IL, Clifford & Helen Wright of Anna, IL, Ivis & Mary Lou Wright of Anna, IL; a Sister: Alice & Everett Palmer of Jonesboro, IL; Nieces & Nephews In addition to his Parents, Douglas was preceded in death by: 3 Brothers ƒ?" Gerald, Bob & Van Wright; 3 Grandchildren ƒ?" Donnie Wright, Ronnie Wright, Jr. & Danny Wright, Jr.; 3 Great Grandchildren ƒ?" J.C. Warren, Rebecca Glasco, & Braden Taylor Douglas was a World War II veteran. He was employed as an automotive mechanic. Later, he worked at the rock quarry at White Hill, IL and was employed as a driver by Ralph Bass Trucking. Douglas was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church, near Vienna. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing & hunting. Funeral services will be conducted Friday morning, August 11, 2006, at 11 AM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Rev. Enloe Clemons, Sr. will officiate. Interment will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in the Rock community in Pope County, IL. Military graveside rites will be accorded. Friends may call from 6-9 PM Thursday, August 10, 2006, at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Memorials may be made to the Oak Grove Baptist Church.
