Dean King

Dean King, son of W.H. King & Frieda (Erwin) King, was born April 13, 1937 in Anna, IL. He departed this life Tuesday evening, May 23, 2006 at 9:40 PM at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky. At the time of his passing, Dean had attained the age of 69 years 1 month & 10 days. Dean was united in marriage to Evelyn (Martin) on April 6, 1958 at the Dixon Springs Baptist Church. She survives. Other survivors include: A Son ƒ?" Rick King & his wife, Mary of Vienna, IL; A Daughter ƒ?" Kelly Hoffner & her husband, Duane of Dongola, IL; 7 Grandchildren ƒ?" Dustin Wayne King of Cypress, IL, Kyle Dean King & Kory Lee King both of Metropolis, IL, Dereck Wesley King & Kara LeAnn King both of Vienna, IL, Hillary Dawn Hoffner & Adam Levi Hoffner both of Dongola, IL; A Brother ƒ?" Donald ƒ?oDoodlesƒ?? King & his wife, Mary Jo of Cypress, IL; A Sister ƒ?" Kay Tapley & her husband, Scott of Karnak, IL; Several Nieces & Nephews. In addition to his Parents, Dean was preceded in death by: A Son ƒ?" Kevin King & A Brother ƒ?" Mike King. Dean was a United States Army Veteran having served from 1960 ƒ?" 1962. He was a Life Member of the Beggs-Gurley VFW Post #5222 in Vienna, IL. Dean was a 1955 graduate of Dongola High School. He had been employed by the State of Illinois as a laborer for Bridge Construction & was a retired Construction Ironworker. Dean was a member of the Ironworkers Local #782 in Paducah, KY. Dean was an avid fan & supporter of the National Modified Midget Racing Association. In 2002 Dean was named ƒ?oNationwide Mechanic of the Yearƒ??. He was an avid gun collector. Dean loved his dog ƒ?oPoohƒ??. Dean was a wonderful Husband, Dad, & Grandpa. He always thought of Friends & Family before himself. He was always willing to go out of his way to help others. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, May 26, 2006 at 2 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home n Vienna, IL. Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery near Dongola, IL. Military graveside rites will be accorded by the Carrol P. Foster VFW Post of Anna, IL. Friends may call after 5 PM Thursday evening at the Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
