Danny was born Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 1964, at the Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis, Illinois. He was the son of Elmer and Nellie (Fairless) Medley. On June 6, 2020, Danny was united in marriage to LaRita Dawn (Beckham) at the pond near their home. She survives. In addition to his mother and wife, Danny is survived by: children – Aaron Levi Medley and Austin Joe (Michelle Harrington) Medley all of Vienna, Chance Michael Medley of Roseville, and Christina Marie (Justin Morneweg) Medley of West Frankfort; Amber Rose (James Kerley) Timmons of West Frankfort, Alexandria Felkins-Dohm of Arizona, Tiffany (Mikey) Felkins-Dohm of Florida; 11 grandchildren – Austyn Jane, Gracie, Ryder Joe, Rosalee, Melanee, Kason, Gracie Lynn, Danny, Kolton, Wally, and Michael; 2 sisters – Sheryl Nutter and Carol Medley both of Vienna; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives & friends. In addition to his father, Danny was preceded in death by a son – Adam Lee Beckham and a daughter – Alyssa Beckham. Danny was a 1982 graduate of Vienna High School. He had been employed by Big Bay Ag as a fertilizer truck driver, welder, mechanic, and farmer. He was also formerly employed by Twomey Grain Co. in Smithshire, Illinois as a semi driver along with other responsibilities. More recently, Danny was employed as a driver by the Goreville Concrete Company. Danny was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trail riding on his side by side. Danny was a fan of Elvis Presley. However, his greatest joy was found in spending time with his family and friends. He especially cherished time spent with his grandchildren. Danny was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Ozark. A service honoring the life of Danny Joe Medley will be conducted Sunday morning, September 22, 2024, at 11 A.M. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Pastor Jeff Treat and Pastor Phillip Bundren will officiate. Burial will be in Hillbilly Heaven (the Medley Family Cemetery). Visitation will be held Sunday, September 22, 2024, from 9 A.M. until the funeral hour at 11 A.M. Memorials may be made to the Heather Harper Treat Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 98, Vienna, Illinois 62995.
