Curtiss Key

Curtiss Key, son of James Mitchell Key & Marjorie Lee (Tinker) Key, was born June 4, 1942 in Athens, Tennessee. He departed this life Wednesday morning, December 14, 2005, at 1:15 AM at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY. At the time of his passing, Curtiss had attained the age of 63 years 6 months & 10 days. Curtiss was united in marriage to Wilma Black on June 11, 1963 in Detroit, Michigan. She survives. Other survivors include: His Mother ƒ?" Marjorie Lee Key of Paragould, Ark; 2 Daughters ƒ?" Wanda & Tracy Dennis of Athens, TN and Kelly & Sam Smith of Portland, TN; 8 Grandchildren ƒ?" Tracy, Kyle, Gabi, Peter & Robert Dennis of Athens, TN; Taylor & Matt Engstrom of Virginia Beach, VA; and Caleb & Joseph Smith of Portland, TN; 2 Great Grandchildren ƒ?" Miaya & Arienne; a Sister ƒ?" Betty Jo & Johnny Carr of Paragould, Ark. In addition to his Father, Curtiss was preceded in death by a Brother ƒ?" Wayne Key. Curtiss was a United States Navy veteran having served from 1956-1979. He had served as a Senior Chief Machinist Mate and served during the Vietnam conflict. Curtiss was the owner & operator of Curtƒ?Ts Appliance Service in Athenƒ?Ts TN from 1980-1989 and in Vienna, IL from 1990-1996. Curtiss was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing, making knives, & spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday morning, December 16, 2005, at 11 AM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Dr. James W. Cecil will officiate. Friends may call from 5 PM ƒ?" 8 PM Thursday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. A Funeral service will also be conducted Monday morning, December 19, 2005, at 11:30 AM at the Clearwater Baptist Church in Athens, TN. Dr. Carlos Peterson will officiate. Interment, with military graveside rites, will follow in the Clearwater Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 AM ƒ?" 11:30 AM Monday at the Clearwater Baptist Church.
