Chad Louis Sampson

Chad Louis Sampson, age 56 years, a resident of rural Grantsburg, Illinois, passed away Saturday morning, January 18, 2025, at 10:41 A.M. at SIH – Herrin Hospital. Chad was born August 14, 1968 in Elgin, Illinois. He was the son of Guy Louis Sampson and Ruth Ann (Ross) Sampson. Chad is survived by: his brother – Brian Louis (his wife, Melinda) Sampson of rural Grantsburg; 2 nephews – Clay Louis Sampson and Cole Louis Sampson; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends. Chad was preceded in death by his parents. Chad was a 1986 graduate of the St. Charles (IL) High School. He attended Southern Illinois University – Carbondale, Illinois where he earned a bachelors degree in business management. While attending SIU, Chad became a member of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. While living in northern Illinois, Chad was employed by Coca-Cola as a driver and pre-sales representative. He also worked for Welch Brothers, Inc. in Elgin, Illinois as a truck driver of pre-cast concrete products. More recently, Chad was employed as a sales representative for approximately 10 years by Water Products, Inc. prior to joining Midwest Meters in their Cape Girardeau, Missouri regional office. He has been an employee of Midwest Meters for over 10 years as a sales representative. Chad was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and trap shooting. Chad was an avid golfer and pool player. A service honoring the life of Chad Sampson will be conducted at 2 P.M. Sunday afternoon, January 26, 2025, at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Pastor Billy Thomas will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, north of Vienna. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be: Clay Sampson, Cole Sampson, George Haden, Todd Welch, Matt Mingl, and Abe Martin. In lieu of flowers, plants, or other customary remembrances, the family suggests memorials may be made to the Vienna High School (fishing team). Donations may be mailed to the high school, 601 North First Street, Vienna, Illinois 62995 or may also be left in the care of the funeral home.
