Carol was born January 13, 1938 at the family home in Jonesboro, Illinois. She was the daughter of Clarence Alton Tweedy and Virgie (Bass) Tweedy. Carol is survived by: her children – Kerry (Cindi) Wills of Wolf Lake, Illinois and Kimberly (Don) Dromeshauser of Virginia Beach, Virginia; 8 grandchildren – Andrew Wills, Nathan Wills, Kyle Wills, Kristi Henson, Paul Kinder, Kristina Reich, Jeffrey Dromeshauser, and Robyn Lemoine; 25 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; a brother – Mike (Bonnie) Tweedy of The Villages, Florida; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by: a son – Kevin Wayne Wills; 3 grandchildren – Billi Wills, Kelli Carmack, and Randi Dromeshauser; and siblings – Clarence “Bub” Tweedy, Jr., Christine Bost, Bernadine Sadler, Joan Bartruff, Richard “Dick” Tweedy, and Janice “Mickey” Lewellyn. Carol attended Anna-Jonesboro High School. She was employed for over 20 years as the bar manager at the Half Penny Pub in Bay Shore, New York. Carol also was a manager of the former Hospitality House in Vienna. Carol enjoyed shopping, particularly at Wal-Mart. She also loved gardening. Carol is fondly remembered as a devoted fan of Elvis Presley. She cherished time spent with her beloved canine companion, Mickie Jo. Carol was a parishioner of St. Paul Catholic Church in Vienna. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. A service honoring the life of Carol Sue (Tweedy) Gordon will be conducted Saturday afternoon, August 17, 2024, at 1 P.M. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Carol’s great nephew, Brad Stamp, will officiate. Burial will be in the Jonesboro City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 17, 2024, from 11 A.M. until the service hour at 1 P.M. at the funeral home.
