Bobby Dean Jones

Bobby Dean Jones, age 84 years, a resident of Dexter, Missouri and a former long time resident of Eureka, Missouri, passed away Sunday morning, February 16, 2020, at 11:40 AM at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, Missouri. Bobby was born May 4, 1935 in Dixon Springs, Illinois. He was the son of James Elwood Jones and Grace A. (Troutt) Jones. On July 12, 1980, Bobby was united in marriage to Maxine Jeanette (McQuary) in Kirkwood, Missouri. She survives. Other survivors include: their children – Marc Allan Jones of San Diego, California, Karla Sue (Ted) Jaques of Dexter, Missouri, Donna Jean Jones of Dallas, Texas, Christina Lynn (Jeff) Rhoads of St. Clair, Missouri, Judy Ann (Don) Thebeau of Barnhart, Missouri, Gary Wayne (Pam) Robison of Mississippi, and Sandi (Larry) Dull of Houston, Texas; a sister – Norma Jennings of Union City, Tennessee; 11 grandchildren – Caleb, Cole, Mick, Trey, Jimmy, Isabella, Stephanie, Douglas, Robbie, Brian, and Nick; several great grandchildren. Bobby is also survived by his beloved German Shephard “Screwdge.” In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by a brother – James Lee Jones and a granddaughter – Alicia Campbell. Bobby attended the Johnson County Public Schools. During his youth, he worked at a variety of jobs to help support his family. Bobby was an honorably discharged U.S. Army veteran. As a young man, Bobby was employed as a guard at the Joliet Federal Prison. He later worked as an engineer for Chrysler, Inc. at the Fenton, Missouri plant. Bobby retired in 1990. Bobby had volunteered as a Boy Scout leader and coached softball while living in Eureka. He was a proud member of the N.R.A. and was a member of a local citizens band “C.B.” radio club. His radio handle was “Big Red.” Bobby was a dedicated genealogist and loved to study family history. He and Jeanette also enjoyed fishing together. Bobby was a member of the church of Christ and had been baptized at the church in Bernie, Missouri. A service honoring the life of Bobby Dean Jones will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2020, at 12 Noon at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Brother Stan Dauck will officiate. Burial will be in the Reevesville Cemetery. Visitation will be conducted Wednesday, February 19, 2020, from 11 AM – 12 Noon at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
