Beverley was born December 3, 1936 at the family home near Vienna. She was the third of nine children born to Arvel and Retha Hines Murrie. Beverley was the eldest of twin girls, the other being her sister Shirley. On June 12, 1954, Beverley was united in marriage to Max Philip Duer in Lincoln, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on August 7, 2005. Beverley is survived by: her children – Molie (her husband, James) Oliver of Tunnel Hill, Keneth Duer of Tunnel Hill, Joy (her husband, Paul) Siebenshuh of St. Charles, Missouri, Patti McGinnis of Tunnel Hill, and Sharon (her husband, Russell) Tarrant of Shingle Springs, California; 14 grandchildren – Christopher Oliver, Angela Rose, Kacie Ruble, Allan Duer, Eric Siebenshuh, Brett Siebenshuh, Kyle Siebenshuh, Zachary McGinnis, Kalie Love, Ethan McGinnis, Hannah Wallace, Weston Tarrant, Natalie Bray, and Belinda Setliff; 10 great grandchildren; her siblings – Glenna (her husband, James) Collie of Vienna, Shirley Combs of Indianapolis, Indiana, Gladys Street, Louise Russell, Arlene Miles, and Tom (his wife, Carmen) Murrie all of Vienna; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Beverley was preceded in death by: a granddaughter – Jolee Tarrant, a son-in-law – Mike McGinnis, a sister – Hazel Shelton, and a brother – Charles L. “C.L.” Murrie. Beverley was a 1954 graduate of Vienna High School. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. Beverley worked as a secretary at the former Tunnel Hill Grade School. She also assisted in the operation of the family lumber, sawmill, and dozer businesses. Beverley worked at Molie-Ann’s gas and grocery near Tunnel Hill. She later acquired the business and operated it for 2 years, prior to selling it to her nephew, Josh. Beverley was an active volunteer in the P.T.A. at the former Tunnel Hill grade school, when her children attended school there. For many years, Beverley served as the Tunnel Hill correspondent for the Vienna Times newspaper. She enjoyed sending cards of encouragement and for all holidays to a wide circle of family and friends. For 34 years, she assisted in providing living care for 2 uncles and an aunt who were visually impaired – Hartwell “Bud”, Arthur, and Violet Murrie. Beverley was a faithful Christian and a member of the church of Christ. A service honoring the life of Beverley Duer will be held Saturday afternoon, September 10, 2022, at 2 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Brother Jim Faughn will officiate. Burial will be in the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery. Visitation will be conducted Saturday afternoon, September 10, 2022, from 12:30 PM – 2 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
