Bernard Edward "Ed" Vaughn Age: 83 years A resident of rural Vienna, Illinois. Passed away Wednesday evening, January 19, 2011, at 7:40 PM at Union County Hospital in Anna, Illinois. Ed was born June 12, 1927 in Johnson County Illinois. He was the son of Horace R. Vaughn and Marie (Mathis) Vaughn. Ed was united in marriage to Norma J. Graves on March 28, 1952 in Vienna, IL. She preceded him in death on January 25, 2003. Survivors include: 2 Daughters - Cathy Craig, and her husband Richard, of Vienna, IL Barbara Jeffress, and her husband Bruce, of Vienna, IL 2 Sons - Bill Vaughn, and his wife Linda, of LaBelle, FL Johnny Vaughn, and his wife Kim, of Vienna, IL 11 Grandchildren - Missy Turbeville, Jennifer Sims, Josh Vaughn, Brian Craig, Wesley Craig, Betsy Davis, Morgan Banks, Bruce McCandless, Gary Vaughn, Joey Vaughn, & Michelle Quertermous 15 Great Grandchildren - Zachary Sims, Karlie Turbeville, Luke Turbeville, Jolie Vaughn, Jack Vaughn, Kevin McCandless, Sarah McCandless, Scott McCandless, Kayla Banks, Jared Vaughn, Nolan Vaughn, Emma Vaughn, Shenia Vaughn, Kylie Vaughn, & Olivia Quertermous A Sister - Kathleen Scott of Delta Junction, Alaska A Brother-in-Law - Paul Graves, and his wife Margaret, of Vienna, IL 5 Sisters-in-Law - Frances Vaughn of Mt. Morris, IL Catherine Moore, and her husband Bob, of Belknap, IL Virginia Bean, Barbara Duvall, & Myrna Graves all of Vienna, IL Several Nieces & Nephews In addition to his Parents and Wife, Ed was preceded in death by: An Infant Son An Infant Great Grandson, Colby Sims A Brother - Lavern Vaughn A Sister - Grace M. Dunn 3 Brothers-in-Law - Claude D. Scott, Carroll Bean, & Johnnie Bob Graves Ed was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran having served during World War II and in the Korean conflict. Ed began driving a truck for Pete Burnam in July 1959 and become a company employee of Fruit Belt Farm Service in 1963. He retired as a petroleum salesman with 30 years of service. Ed, along with his wife Norma, worked as a custodian at the Vienna Banterra Bank and also at the Vienna First United Methodist Church. Ed enjoyed fishing as a young man. He was a hard worker and loved to mow his yard and drive his tractor. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon, January 23, 2011, at 1:30 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Rev. Bill Gholson will officiate. Burial will be in the Belknap Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call after 5 PM Saturday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
